Our Story
The idea for the Nova Family Support Foundation was born out of personal heartbreak. After experiencing the pain of a miscarriage and the collapse of his marriage, our founder found himself facing the kind of emotional devastation that often goes unseen. He became one of the over 51% of people in the U.S. whose marriages end in divorce — a statistic that, for him, now held a face and a name.
As he reflected on his own childhood, shaped by the struggles of growing up in a broken home, he began to understand just how deeply the loss of family stability affects everyone involved — especially the children. He saw not just his story, but a repeating pattern: families falling apart without the support, tools, or guidance to heal and grow.
That’s when the mission began — to create something that could help stabilize families, empower parents, and give children a chance at a healthier, brighter future. A future grounded in connection, care, and hope.
Why Nova?
The name Nova was chosen in honor of the child our founder and his former partner lost — a loss that changed the course of his life. In astronomy, a nova is a powerful burst of light that emerges after a star experiences a dramatic transformation. For our founder, it was the name given to the child he lost. A bright star in his life that suddenly disappeared. For us, it represents the possibility of light emerging from darkness and growth coming from grief.
Nova is not just a name. It’s a symbol of resilience, of healing after loss, and of the belief that even in the darkest moments, families can rebuild — and shine again.
Nova Family Support Foundation exists to turn that belief into reality — providing families with the resources, support, and compassion they need to heal and thrive, together.
